# [[🚕 The BEST Taxi Driver in Beirut]] #Happiness #Lebanon #Values #Life #Gratitude #Story I met the BEST Taxi Driver in Beirut today. Yes .. the BEST! I was walking a 100 meters uphill .. still at it very bottom .. I notice a very old taxi cab honking behind me .. and as usual, I just wave saying "shukran" (thank you) .. He insists on honking .. slows down .. and looks at me with an very old smiley face that is missing half of its teeth, and screams "wlak tla3 tla3 3ammo.. 3ala ras el tal3a" (come on just get in, to the top of the hill at least) .. I couldn't resist his positive energy .. and I hopped in. He then says "feel ow balek tal3een" (with or without you, we are heading to the top) .. There was a guy and a girl in the back. The guy said something along the lines of "if there were many like you, life would be much better" .. I was very touched indeed. Most other drivers wouldn't have cared. They wouldn't have thought the way he thought. I can only wonder what did this old man go through in his life .. how many people did he help .. and how many lives did he change. If science is true, people who give selflessly are people who are extremely happy and satisfied in their lives. He might be old and poor .. but for sure he is pretty rich in many other ways. With all his materialistic poorness, I dare to say that this is a person I would look up to.
