# [[🤳 Regulating Influencers and Content Creators]] #Social_Media #Economy #Government #Technology There will soon be a global trend towards governing and regulating "**influencers**" and "**content creators**". 🤖 Different countries will handle it differently, but here are some elements of this regulation: - 📈 Influencers above a certain amount of reach will need to be **legally registered** as a business. 💰 - 🔍 Influencers could be asked to **declare a genre or a topic** that they are not allowed to sway from (much like all businesses). 🎯 - 🗣️ Influencers will be **legally liable** for anything they do or say through their channels. 💬 - 👀 Some governments might impose forms of **censorship** to maintain minimum social standards. 🙅‍♂️ - 🌎 Influencers with considerable reach in countries other than their main one (regional/global influencers) will likely be also **governed by the laws of the countries they reach**, or there could be some kind of cross-border influencer framework. 🌍 This will be catalyzed by two main concerns: 1) Taxing influencers 💸 2) Social wellbeing 🧡 Needless to say, taxing will be the main driver.
