As a result ... the Lebanese Banks will NOT under any regular circumstances give the people their money in the near future, unless they print new LBP for that, which has been happening for the last 2 years. And needless to say, printed money gets less valuable by the day. So in reality, the money we are getting back is merely an illusion. Giving the people their money back is equivalent to a mass bank suicide. Most of them will go bankrupt (except for any assets they might own). They are just trying to delay the inevitable to minimize their losses. Yes theirs, not ours. And that's another reason they give it to us in little bits. No Lebanese person will put money in those banks again. They will not be able to rebuilt their capital in any form.
