# ⚠️ The AI Revolution and the Coming Global Economic Depression #Artificial_Intelligence #Economy #Future #Collapse #Society There is a MASSIVE global economic depression unfolding. When millions of people are no longer needed, because artificial intelligence does their work for 0.1% of the time and cost, economic cycles get shattered. Even tech companies are laying off hundreds of thousands, because they no longer need as many programmers and engineers — the very people who created AI. And the shitty thing is: AI will replace skilled middle class individuals. Its impact is nothing like the industrial revolution, and it is extremely naive to assume that it is comparable in its negative effects. Comparing the AI revolution to the industrial revolution is like comparing the invention of TNT to the invention of nukes. Hundreds of millions of people who are the cornerstone of economies will be unwanted anymore. Global economies will break apart. This is why I strongly believe that the use of AI will be HEAVILY regulated, and "human protection groups" will arise. One hope I'm seeing is that all this will burst the huge economic and consumerist bubble we have been living in, and make the world return to what really matters.
