### [[🤓 Knowledge Is Power, But ..]] #My_Quirks #Philosophy I find myself obsessed with the tiniest details. When buying a TV, I look into its LED technology, the percentage of color space coverage, and the viewable angle. When I am prescribed any form of medicine, I look up every molecule, and read scientific studies about it, and how it compares to alternatives (studies, not articles. And yes, plural). To most people, buying a calcium supplement is as easy as buying a pack that says calcium on it. What about the form of the calcium (calcium citrate, or carbonate? Its bioavailability? Any studies that test specific brand claims?) When buying detergents, do you know the actual scientific difference between dish soap, degreaser, toilet cleaner, laundry detergent? Or did you ever read what specific insecticide is used in the bottle you are picking, and looked into any studies that compare it with the efficacy of other options? When buying a flight ticket. The many variables I use to decide which flight to take include the airplane’s model number and reviews of seats on that specific plane. Do you know where the best spot to place your food in your microwave is, and why it’s that spot? Do you know why using a fabric softener makes your towels less absorbent, or what’s the actual difference between the cotton and the wool cycles, or where the single socks ACTUALLY go? 😛 Do you know why nights are almost always less windy than days? Or why do some bird species fly in circles for hours, sometimes? Or why most animals, even unrelated species, have lighter fur towards its bottom half, and darker towards the top? What makes whiteboard markers not stick, and tattoos stick? Knowledge is power. But ignorance is bliss.
