Eventually, every media platform will need to clean up the mess it made when it knowingly served their audience with lies. They will need to "explain". And the bigger the lie, the more explanation they will need to do. Money could be pumped to give them a little more endurance .. but after all, they will need to decide if they want a short term gain in return of a long term failure, potentially risking the brand itself, and the careers of all those who served the brand. The first to courageously switch will earn some trust, they could even capitalize on it and play hero .. but every one after that will be losing more and more brand capital the longer they keep trying to hold the house of cards.
