It is a matter of months or a couple of years before anyone can *easily* create a virtual identity that can pass every verification test, including fully interactive live video calls. You won't be 100% confident that the person you met online is who they claim they are, until you meet them in person. This will very likely bring the rise of third-party verification services, that offer solutions to this problem. Between the time when the technology starts to allow easy creation of passable virtual personas, and the time when reliable verification services show up, we will pass through a phase of "acceptance" that every person we meet online is possibly unreal.
