# [[Ideas aren't Worthless]] #Business #Innovation #Idea #Critique #Advice #Philosophy As an entrepreneurship and media educator, I used to say that ideas themselves have no value, they are worthless; everyone has ideas. I recently realized that the above is not different from saying that plant seeds have no intrinsic value, which is not the case. However, just like a business or a creative idea, a seed, as valuable as it "potentially" is, can only reach its potential under certain conditions and in the presence of all the required elements. Ideas can indeed have a significant intrinsic value to them, but their value can and will only flourish when all requirements are met. I still believe that: - If the idea's implementation can succeed just by knowing the idea, it's likely not a very valuable idea, and its market will get oversaturated in a matter of months, or even weeks. - If a successful idea can be replicated by someone just by observing it from the outside, it'll very likely have a very short-lived value. The opposite is true: If something is hard to replicate, even when well examined and studied, it will likely have a longer life while others play catch up. **EVERYTHING successful WILL be replicated by many**. You can't stop replication attempts, but your decisions and practices can make it easier or harder to do so. ![[ideasarenotworthless.png]] > [!seealso] Related Thoughts > >- [[My Ideas By Someone Else]] >- [[10 Common Mistakes Among Lebanese Entrepreneurs — And How To Fix Them.]] >- [](10%20Common%20Mistakes%20Among%20Lebanese%20Entrepreneurs%20—%20And%20How%20To%20Fix%20Them.md)ublished: June 09, 2024
