Over the last few years, YouTube has been continuously increasing restrictions on its content creators, reaching today to preventing a creator from monetizing his content for "real life" non-YouTube related issues (getting investigated for a serious crime)[^1][^2]. Although questionable, this is a typical course of action for a company to take against an employee. But for an open platform to take such action, confining not only the creators' content, but also their off-YouTube life ... is a new one, and I'm sure more platforms will follow as they try to keep advertisers happy, especially with the huge influx of advertisers from traditional media. This is another HUGE reminder **NOT to rely on online platforms for consistent income**, especially not on only one.
