And this is terrible. Humanity still does not know how to deal with this. The kids from previous generations had very few and mostly non-quantifiable ways to compare themselves to the kids around them. The closest was school grades, but that wasn't directly related to our self worth, and more to our intellectual performance in specific. Likes, followers, views, are a DIRECT measurement that is used by kids (and even adults sometimes) to compare themselves to others, and set their self-worth. Even worse, those numbers are publicly visible, so our kids' self worth is openly advertised to their peers. If you are a parent with kids born after 2010 .. you need to catch up on that, as I can already guarantee you that it is messing with your child's brain.
